ARCTIC CIRCLE EXPERIENCE

Located directly on the Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi is Finland's most popular winter resort. Home of Santa Claus Village where you can meet Santa himself, Rovaniemi also offers a wide range of additional snow-based activities such as snowmobiling, huskies, reindeers, as well as downhill skiing.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO ROVANIEMI, FINNISH LAPLAND ON THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
Transfer from the airport to your accommodation - yours is one of a group of semi-detached log cabins at the foot of the downhill ski slopes in Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle.   There is a reception area, and log restaurant.
Cabins have twin beds and additional twin beds in open loft area, individually-controlled central heating, TV, telephone, hairdryer, kitchenette, microwave, fridge and kettle, shower room with private sauna and terrace.

DAY 2: HUSKY SAFARI
Transfer to a local husky farm - meet & greet the friendly dogs. Get a short lesson on how to ride a sledge pulled by these husky dogs. During the 30 minute safari you will ride across frozen rivers and snowy forests. Full thermal outfits and return transfers are included.

DAY 3: VISIT SANTA CLAUS VILLAGE
A short transfer to nearby Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. Plenty of shopping and dining possibilities pus of course the chance to meet the man himself, and post letters & cards from Santa's Post Office.

For dinner, a truly unique dining experience. A Ice Restaurant built of snow and ice provides a special setting for an unforgettable dinner.  Before dinner, a guide tells about the construction, operation and special features of the Snow Hotel complex. Enjoy a 3 course Lappish dinner around ice tables. Return transfers from hotel are included.
* Note: Its possible, if you wish, to rent thermal outfits.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE HOME
Time for optional activities* before transfer back to the airport for flights home.

These additional activities can be either included in advance, or the same or similar can be purchased on-the-spot. Please note optional tours on-the-spot should be booked either from the hotel or safari company directly. Prices may vary.

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO WILDERNESS (Daily)
Enjoy a 2 hour snowmobile tour around the snow-covered landscapes. During this fun safari, you'll learn how to snowmobile along frozen rivers and through snow-covered forests. Safari available every day from14.00 – 16.00.

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO REINDEER FARM (Daily from 9 January)
A snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm. Learn about Lappish culture and reindeer husbandry. Receive your own international reindeer driver's license and participate in a special Lapp ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle. Safari available every day starting from 1st January from 10.00 – 13.00.

AURORA BOREALIS SAFARI BY SNOWMOBILES (Mon, Wed, Thur, Sat, Sun)
Come and experience an exotic Arctic evening by driving snowmobile through snow-covered forests and over treeless fells. With a little luck, if the sky is clear, the moon, stars and even the Northern Lights may show the way. Enjoy warm beverages by a campfire and hear stories about Northern lights. Safari available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Child discounts: Children 12 years or younger 25% these additional activites for December tours, 50% off from 9 January onwards. Note child price gives seat on sled pulled by snowmobile.
