Off Finland’s south-west coast lies one of the country’s most amazing and unique regions. The Turku Archipelago consists of over 20,000 islands, and is a stunning area of natural beauty. Our popular cycling tour hops from island to island using local ferries.

Included in the package is accommodation in a combination of small island boutique hotels, converted school houses and barns, the small harbour town of Naantali, and the city of Turku, plus two fantastic archipelago dinners, bicycle hire with panniers and helmets, a route information booklet plus .GPX files for your phone or navigation device, cycling maps, and emergency service. Luggage transfer is available as an optional extra.

We donate 10 EUR for every person booked on this tour to the John Nurminen Foundation, a charitable organisation protecting the Baltic Sea and its cultural heritage.

How to Get Here

Tour starts and ends in Turku, Finland. Nearest airport is Turku, but also easy access from Helsinki airport by train, so guests commonly fly in and out of Helsinki, and combine a city stay there.

Tour Notes

All accommodations have private bathrooms
City centre locations at the start and end of the tour make it easy to arrive + depart and pick up/drop off bikes. Beautiful natural locations in the archipelago combine with a stay in the small town of Naantali.
2 dinners are included in excellent island hotel restaurants.
Breakfast is included daily
Suitcases can be left without charge at the start/end hotel. Panniers are spacious and waterproof, or choose to have luggage transferred for a supplement.
This is a self-guided cycling tour. Each guest receives full route as downloadable .GPX files plus a Route Information Leaflet including ferry timings. There is no guide included. On most departures there will be other guests cycling.

01Day

Personal arrival to Turku, a bustling summer city on the south-west coast of Finland. There is a medieval castle and cathedral, and a wide selection of bars, cafes, and restaurants.

02Day

Collect your bicycles and ride out of the city. A fine system of Bike Lanes keeps you out of the traffic as you head into the archipelago for your first overnight stay by the sea.

03Day

A choice of routes takes you across a couple of islands to your next accommodation. An excellent dinner is included tonight in hotel’s top-rated restaurant.

04Day

There is one relaxing ferry journey today between 2 of the biggest of the archipelago islands. Enjoy a local tasting menu for dinner.

05Day

Returning by ferry to the mainland, continue by bike to Naantali, an idyllic harbour village of cobbled streets and old wooden houses.

06Day

Free time in Naantali, or in Turku according to your preference. Short ride back to Turku to return your bicycles.

07Day

Time to return home, or extend your stay in Turku.

BOOKING, PAYMENT & CANCELLATION TERMS

Bookings made should include guest names, room choice (for double occupancy indicate preference for 2 twin bedded rooms or 1 large bed) sex, heights, any special diets, and if luggage transfer is included or not.
A deposit of 20% payable by credit card is required to secure the booking. A secure payment link will be sent when resvervation is confirmed.
Balance payment is due 60 days prior to arrival payable via secure credit card link sent 7 days prior to this date.
Cancellation of bookings is possible up to 60 days prior to tour arrival, less deposit paid
Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to tour arrival, and before 30 days prior to arrival, will be charged 50% of the booking total.
Cancellations made later than 30 days prior to tour arrival will be charged in full.
Note that The Travel Experience reserve the right to change the route and/or accommodation due to unforeseen circumstances.
Food +/or Fuel Surcharges may be added depending on world price fluctuations.
