ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO HELSINKI
Personal arrival to Helsinki.
Short walk from your hotel to dinner - a unique tasting menu of modern Finnish cuisine, each of the 5 courses paired with its own cocktail. Different, and surprising. Design on a Plate.

DAY 2: HELSINKI
Private guided walking tour of Design Helsinki. A good starting place is Helsinki's Design District, right by your hotel. The Design District is an eclectic collection of 200 design and antique stores, fashion outlets, museums, art galleries, restaurants and showrooms. In the heart of the Design District is the Design Museum, the Museum of Finnish Architecture and Design Forum Finland, a gallery and a shop that presents the latest trends in Finnish Design.
The afternoon is free to use your included Helsinki tourist card to explore further the Finnish Capital. Your guide can also suggest some places to visit that will your wishes.

DAY 3: HELSINKI
A full day to continue your Helsinki design experience. Using your Helsinki Card, you have free entry to most major sights and museums, unlimited travel on public transport within the city of Helsinki, free travel to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, plus a free Audio City Tour.

DAY 4: Departure

MAP

The map centres on the harbour, home to Helsinki's bustling open-air market, a great place to see fresh fish, fruit and vegetables on sale direct from the suppliers, or taste some local fast food that you won't find at home.

GOOD TO KNOW

During 2012, Helsinki was the World Design Capital. Whilst Finland already enjoyed an internationally-known design tradition, Helsinki was chosen for the title of "World Design Capital" based not on its skill in producing "pretty things", but for its ability to use design to actually improve life. A variety of changing exhibitions co-existed alongside such things as urban revitalisation projects. Educational as well as entertaining, there was something for everyone.
